Lincoln, NH May 28, 2010: Construction Phase One which includes all foundation, sub-grade plumbing and the wet deck was completed recently on our Biggest and Best new construction project in History – Shipwreck Island. “Today we have entered into Phase Two which consists of flying Steel and Fiberglass” says General Manager, Jeb Boyd. “We hope to have phase 2 complete which is the major construction phase and start ride testing within the next three weeks.”
Shipwreck Island is best described as a massive water jungle gym that has 8 new water slides, and tons of other exciting ways to stay cool in the hot summer sun. The new ride is topped off with a gigantic themed pirate ship that dumps hundreds of gallons of water to those below. The ride is produced and designed by ProSlide Water Technology out of Ottawa Canada. ProSlide and The Whale’s Tale Waterpark came together with this unique ride and will be working together to position this new ride as the North American Showcase for rides of this type. “We feel extremely fortunate to have the relationship with ProSlide to enable us to add a ride of this magnitude to our park” says Boyd.
The Whale’s Tale Water Park is located in Lincoln NH, just off exit 33 of I-93. The park features 17 acres of beautifully maintained grounds at the base of the Franconia Mountain Range and is home of some of the industry’s best and most unique water rides available today. The park opens on June 8th and will be opening Shipwreck Island in early July.
